Governor Babagana Engages More Groups to Fight Bako Haram In Borno

The Governor of Borno state, Northeast Nigeria Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, has today addressed members of the civilian JTF, vigilante and hunters at the multipurpose hall of the government House upon the security situation in the state.

The governor, who expressed gratitude to all these groups for their role in fighting the insurgency, increased their monthly allowances from N15, 000 to N20, 000 beginning from the month of June and directed everyone of them to open an account for speedy transformation.

Prof Umara said that, he has already provided three vehicles to the CJTF, to effectively cover and monitor activities around Bakassi and Ajilari areas adding that an office accommodation will also be given to them.

Prof. Babagana umara zulum also said that he had a meeting with the police, Department of state service, General Officer Commanding 7 Division Nigeria Army, and the Brigade Commander and all have accepted to work and cooperate with these groups.

He urged the leadership of all the groups to submit their requests through their coordinator, Barr. Kaka Shehu Lawan for approval as this administration is ready to give maximum support to them.

In their separate remarks during the occasion, malam. Ba, Lawan and Malam Sa’ad, sector 9 overall commanders thanked the governor for supporting their groups and assured that they will put in their best and work in unity with all the security agencies to achieve a sustainable success.
