A Boko Haram insurgent on Monday sneaked into Muktum village and slaughtered his biological father, Malum Kwaramtcheri, in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State in Nigeria.

A source in the village said the insurgent, who joined Boko Haram about four years ago, tried to get his father to follow his footsteps, and that he returned to kill his father probably because of the father’s refusal to join the sect.

The terrorist entered the village around 11:30 pm in company of four others and carried out the attack. Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Zubairu Jafiya, confirmed the incident, saying the attack was perpetrated by a gang of four suspected Boko Haram members.

He said the attackers, who were in possession of gun, scared away residents and killed the victim. A resident in the village, Usman Kura, told reporters that the slain father was a former councilor and renowned politician in Ngirbuwa town.
